The terms that govern your use of this website and the information we provide through it.
Effective July 2026. We may update this from time to time; the current version is always the one posted here.
This website is operated by The Advance Brief, a registered sole proprietorship in Ontario (Business Identification Number 1001666858) ("we", "us"). By accessing or using this website you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
The Advance Brief prepares bespoke pre-travel intelligence dossiers and related reference materials. This website describes that service and allows you to make an inquiry. Any engagement to prepare a dossier is separate from this website and is governed by the terms of a written client services agreement between you and us.
Our briefs and this website provide information and considered judgment to support your own decisions. They do not guarantee safety, outcomes, or the accuracy or availability of any third-party service, facility or contact. Conditions change, and government advisories and local circumstances can change after a brief is delivered. You remain responsible for your own travel decisions and should review current official advisories and take appropriate professional advice before and during travel. Nothing on this site is legal, medical, security or insurance advice.
When you contact us or submit an inquiry, you agree to provide accurate information and not to submit highly sensitive personal information (such as passport numbers or medical records) through the initial inquiry form. Information you provide is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
The content, design, branding, layout and materials on this website, and the format and design of our dossiers and cards, are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. Dossiers we deliver are licensed to the commissioning client for their own internal, non-commercial use in connection with the relevant trip. You may not copy, resell, redistribute or create derivative works from our materials without our written permission.
You agree not to use this website unlawfully, to attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, to disrupt the site, or to use it in any way that could harm us or any other person.
We compile destination information from public and official sources and may reference or link to third-party materials. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy or availability of third-party sources, and a reference is not an endorsement.
This website and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and any warranty regarding accuracy, completeness or uninterrupted availability.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, this website or its content. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law. Liability in connection with a commissioned dossier is addressed in the applicable client services agreement.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses and expenses arising out of your misuse of this website or your breach of these Terms.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date above shows the current version, and continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
Questions about these Terms can be directed to briefings@theadvancebrief.com.
